Halls Art Award Presentation at Weston Park
'Queen Victoria's Train Arrives'
Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this fantastic model which gained third place in the Halls Art competition. The children attended the awards ceremony at Weston Park and were presented with a certificate and free family tickets to Weston Park. We had a super time looking at the art work displayed from other primary and secondary schools.
Inspired by a visit to the Severn Valley Railway, the children created this model of a steam train. In particular they learnt about the expansion of the railways and how trains brought food, animals and people into the cities, helping the cities to grow. The children viewed the Royal Carriage at the Severn Valley visitor's centre, Highley and were keen to recreate this for their model. Every child in the school made a peg doll.
