Barmouth Trip

A trip to the RNLI lifeboat station has been arranged on 18th September 2019 for Mrs Manley’s class. A letter was sent home with children yesterday. Reply slips and payment should be returned by Friday 13th September.

Magical Maths

Following the tremendous success of Magical Maths last term, we have invited them back for a similar club this term. The children had an assembly with Magical Maths this morning. A letter has been given to the children this morning about signing up to the club.   This term the club will take place in Ash class.

Schools’ Library Service Local Library Awards

Any children who have done the Summer reading challenge at a library other than at Church Stretton Library, please bring in their medals and certificates.

The local library will be coming in on the 12th September at 9am to present awards.

Shrewsbury Ark Assembly

David Doonan will be coming in to talk to us about this Christian homeless charity for the afternoon assembly on Thursday 12th September.

School Meals

Menus will stay the same as last term, until the last week in March 2020.  Any updates from Telford and Wrekin will be passed on to everyone.  If you no longer have a copy of the leaflet, please ask for a copy at the office.

Friday Afternoon Cookery Club

A letter is attached regarding the cookery club with Ms Dugdale. Return slips and £5 contributions can be returned to the office.

Questionnaire Responses

Thank you to everyone who returned our summer term parents’ questionnaire. Your comments and input are most helpful, and we will bare them in mind for future planning. The responses are attached for your reference.

Maths Dictionaries for Year Three Pupils

Thank you to one of our families who kindly supports our school by donating maths dictionary to each of our children as they start year three.

Children in year three will be bringing this dictionary home tonight.

Shrewsbury Flower Show

Congratulations and well done to Annie, Tom, Larraine Oxley and Sam Carter, who did a tremendous job creating this year’s superb Shrewsbury Flower Show Garden on the theme of Sustainability and Environment. This year the garden was awarded Highly Commended. Pictures of this garden can be seen on the schools website and Facebook page.

Club and Recorder Letters

A gentle reminder for everyone to bring in their consent slips and payment. Sent earlier this week as well as the cookery letter attached.

Violin Tuition

Beverley Beynon from the Shropshire Music Service will be holding an assembly on Wednesday afternoon to introduce children to playing violin. A letter about this will be sent home with your children on Wednesday 11th September.

 

                                                                                    Guitar Tuition
Tim Daley from the Shropshire Music Service will be holding an assembly on Tuesday morning to introduce children to playing the guitar. A letter about this will be sent home with the children on Tuesday 10th September.
Scholastic Book Club Orders

Attached is a leaflet from Scholastics for children to buy books of their choice to start their next reading adventure. Orders can be made easily directly from Scholastics. However, orders made through the school allow the school to claim back 25% of the total order value back in free books. If anyone wants to place an order through school, please return any order slips with payment to the office by 18th October 2019.

U11 GIRLS MAGPIES TEAM IN CHURCH STRETTON

They are looking for players to join their team. Anyone interested in registering an interest and be put in contact with the appropriate coach, please contact in the first instance:

 

All coaches are mainly parent volunteers who are DBS checked and all have child safeguarding and first aid certificates along with a level 1 FA coaching qualification.
