CLARITY ABOUT START OF DAY PROCEDURES

A reminder that school opens at 8.45am and all children should be settled in class by 9.00am so that they are not marked late and miss the start of lessons.

CROSS COUNTRY CLUB

This club starts on Wednesday 25 September (3.15 – 4.15pm) with Mrs Manley and Miss Reeves. Please do come and join us for the run.

RECEPTION BASELINE ASSESSMENTS

The government has released an information video about the baseline assessments conducted with reception children when they start school. Please follow this link:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7CMu_Ef1Zs&t=3s

to find out more. Baseline is a simple way of gauging starting points for teaching and learning when your child starts school. This link is also on the school website under parents – useful information.

ABSENCES

Local authority regulations require that any child removed from school during the day for an appointment with medical or professional services, must evidence this with a copy of the appointment/ confirmation from that professional. If a child has been taken out for family reasons we must have a written note explaining the reasons why. Failure to produce these, will lead to the involvement from the schools’ Education Welfare Officer, who will investigate all absences without written documentation.

MAGICAL MATHS CLUB

This fun club starts on Tuesday 24 September at 3.15pm until 4.20pm.

TIMES TABLES ROCK STARS

Times Tables Rock Stars is now up and running in Key Stage 2. This is an excellent way for your child to learn their multiplication tables and develop fast recall. If your child needs help logging onto this software at home, please get in touch with Miss Carter.

MUSIC LESSONS

Thank you to those who have returned their music consent forms and payment to the office. Please note the Shropshire Music Service does not provide guitar hire. Mr Daley is happy to provide guidance to parents on what size guitars would be suitable for children in his lessons. Mr Daley arrives at Rushbury Primary School at about 10am on a Tuesday if anyone wishes to speak with him.
