DROWNING PREVENTION AWARENESS

Teme Leisure has provided a couple of resources for schools to help raise awareness of Drowning to the children.

Here is a link to a video from YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDTmv4Sddvk

It’s a great video and it Is suitable for all ages.

Main things to highlight to the children is:

1) NEVER SWIM ALONE. Always make sure others are around when you enter water

2) If you see anyone in danger NEVER ENTER THE WATER to help. SHOUT or get help as quickly as you can.

3) If your child ever does find themselves in danger in water, remind them to turn onto their backs, FLOAT AND SHOUT.

A PDF document of the different sorts of Flags used at the Beach and the meaning for them, and also some activity sheets are available. Should you wish them to be emailed to you please email the school Administrator.

ROYAL AIR FORCE ASSOCIATION COLOUR CHAOS 2019

The RAFA Colour Chaos fun run is coming back to RAF Cosford on Sunday 28th July 2019.

The 2018 RAFA Colour Chaos is (approximately) 5km of fun. You can run, jog, dance, walk… in fact complete it any way you like…it’s all about the fun and what gives you the biggest smiles! One sure thing will happen… you will get plastered in powder paint!

Along the route, you will pass points of interest around the airfield and we will be waiting to cheer you across the finish line and present your event medal.

To sign up, go to www.rafa.org.uk/get-involved/events/colour-chaos-2019-raf-cosford

This fabulous event is raising funds for the RAF Association’s ‘Storybook Wings’ project, bringing serving RAF parents who have to spend time away,  back home to their children at bedtime through recordings of their favourite bedtime story. www.rafa.org.uk/what-we-do/storybook-wings
