A quarter of the playground squares have been sponsored in our Sponsor A Metre Appeal – that’s 100 square metres so far! This is a fantastic achievement and a big thank you goes to everybody who has donated. Thank you for your continued support. Blue sponsor slips are available from reception for anyone wishing to donate. Thank you for your continued support

At Rushbury, your children spend a significant amount of time learning outdoors. With the summer term fast approaching, this is a reminder to send your children prepared for sunny weather. We advise hats and sun-cream for protection. Sun-cream can be kept in school bags or given to the class teacher for safe keeping. If you would like us to store sun-cream (for your child to put on themselves), please make sure the bottle is clearly labelled with your child’s name. Thank you.

Joel Momcilovic – for helping Mr Norton to sweep the playground at lunchtime.

St Chad’s Church, Shrewsbury

Unveiling of Royal British Legion Centenary Poppy Sculpture

The Churchwardens of St Chad’s Church, Shrewsbury invite you to join them for the unveiling of Shropshire’s sculpture to remember all from the county who gave their lives in the Great War. The Shropshire Poppy Appeal and St Chad’s Church have been working with two local artists, Lyn Evans and Nik Burns along with Martin Phillips of Heritage Schools to commemorate this special year. Over 80 Primary schools in Shropshire, and Telford & Wrekin have helped to create a one off sculpture which will stand as a lasting legacy to the 5,286 lives lost from Shropshire during the First World War.

Wednesday 6 June 2018 5pm

St Chad’s Church, Shrewsbury, SY1 1JX

The event will take place during one of the weekly Shropshire Great War remembrance services. These 15 minute services remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice 100 years ago that week. Immediately after the remembrance of all those from Shropshire who died 100 years ago this week (particularly including those who died in the Battle of Bligny 6 June 1918) the sculpture will be unveiled.  Light refreshments will be available afterwards.

All are welcome to this and every other service at St Chad’s, but it would be helpful if you could indicate whether you are able to attend. Do please pass this invitation on to anyone else who you think might be interested.
