MESSAGE FROM PETER DAVIES REGARDING ABSENCE OF MRS PYE

MESSAGE FROM PETER DAVIES REGARDING ABSENCE OF MRS PYE

As most of you are probably aware Mrs Pye has not been in school this week due to a family bereavement. Unfortunately she has subsequently been taken ill and was admitted to hospital yesterday with an acute illness following a ruptured appendix. She remains in hospital and we all wish her well. During her absence Mr Bremner will be covering Class 3 for the foreseeable future until Mrs Pye is well enough to return to work. The staff and governors will ensure that school carries on as normal. In particular the upcoming SATS for Year 6 will be administered by Mr Bremner who has previous experience of SATS. The local authority will also provide additional support. During Mrs Pye’s absence Mrs Manley will be the teacher in charge of the school.

Peter Davies, Chair of Governors

CLASS 1 VISIT TO LUDLOW CASTLE

On Tuesday 24th April Class 1 will be visiting Ludlow Castle.   They will travel by school mini-buses and be accompanied by Mrs Manley, Miss Carter, Mrs Stanley, Mrs Wilson and Mr Friswell. Children will need a packed lunch, extra drink and a rucksack. For those children whose parents previously opted for a packed lunch provided by the school (when the trip was originally organised) these arrangements will still apply.

FOREST SCHOOL

Please note there will be no forest school on Tuesday because Mrs Wilson will be on the visit to Ludlow.

SUMMER WEATHER PREPARATION

At Rushbury, your children spend a significant amount of time learning outdoors. With the summer term fast approaching, this is a reminder to send your children prepared for sunny weather. We advise hats and sun-cream for protection. Sun-cream can be kept in school bags or given to the class teacher for safe keeping. If you would like us to store sun-cream (for your child to put on themselves), please make sure the bottle is clearly labelled with your child’s name. Thank you.
