NEW CHAIR OF GOVERNORS

Following the governor’s meeting on Monday 19th March we are pleased to inform you that Peter Davies has been elected chair of governors. We would like to take this opportunity to thank him for his time and commitment to the school.

EARLY YEARS SPORTS FESTIVAL

On Monday 26th March children in reception will be taking part in an Early Years Sports Festival at Church Stretton school.   They will travel by school mini bus accompanied by Mrs Manley and Mr Friswell. Please ensure your child has his/her PE kit in school that day.   Normal lunch time arrangements will apply.

EASTER EGG HUNT

In next week’s forest school sessions children will be treated to an Easter egg hunt. Thank you to Mrs Wilson for organising this.

FUNDRAISING PARTNERSHIP WITH CHURCH STRETTON CO-OP

Staff at the Church Stretton Food Store have chosen Friends of Rushbury School as their local Fundraising Partner.  The partnership will be starting with immediate effect. This is great news for the school as it is to help us to raise funds for the playground resurfacing.

COLOURING COMPETITION

The Co-Op are holding an Easter colouring competition.   Please find attached a picture for your child to colour in. There will be a prize for the winner. Entries can be taken into the store by 28th March or sent into school by 27th March at the latest. The pictures will be displayed in the store before judging so the earlier you can get them there the better, if your child would like to see their picture displayed. (Names and contact details on the reverse will be concealed.)

EASTER HAMPER PRIZE DRAW AT THE STRETTON CO-OP

Just a reminder to enter the competition at the Co-op to win a hamper. Tickets available at the Co-op store in Church Stretton. Cost £1 per square. All proceeds will go towards fund raising for the school playground.

MESSAGE FROM RUSHBURY MILLENIUM GREEN COMMITTEE

The Green and playground are owned by the people who live in Rushbury Parish. This fantastic facility has been maintained for the last 17 years by a very small committee of volunteers. Looking to the future, the committee would like to widen the group involved in the Green and Playground so that it will remain beautiful and safe for generations to come. With this in mind we are inviting representatives from other local groups and services, as well as all interested individuals, to join with us to maintain this facility. Currently we have two mornings per year tidying the shrub borders and two to three meetings per year to make sure any issues are dealt with. Some parts of the larger playground equipment will need replacement during the next five years and so we are making plans to ensure this happens. We would very much like some parents and /or teachers from Rushbury School to join the committee. In particular we need social media and advertising skills! The more people connected to the Green the better the understanding of how it is looked after, and hopefully the better it will be looked after in the future. Please contact Sarah Madeley 01694 771330 if you are interested or got to the facebook page for Rushbury Millenium Green.
