CHESS TOURNAMENTThe inter-schools Chess Tournament was held at Condover Primary School on Thursday 12 March. Five children represented Rushbury and were accompanied by Tom Williamsom and Geoff Taylor. Many congratulations to the children who came joint second. Special thanks to Tom and Geoff Taylor for their work with Chess Club every Friday. Thank you to Mrs Perry for helping with transport arrangements.

COMIC RELIEFThank you for supporting this very worthy cause. Your donations, jumble and delicious cakes were very much appreciated. The money raised from the jumble amounted to £75.10, which will go towards buying a school pet and the donations totalled £18.50 which will be sent to Comic Relief.
PD DAY – FRIDAY 27 MARCHA reminder that school is closed on Friday 27 March (PD Day)

Friday 27th March 10:00 -11:30am

The school is closed as it is a PD day but children are invited to take part in the fun and frolics. Those wishing to enter a hat into the competition need to bring it along, already decorated, and ensure it is entered before setting off on the Easter Egg hunt.

Adults – you can enter the competition too….Good Luck – may the best hat win!! Please note – as the hunt is outside, in the school grounds, children will need to be accompanied by an adult at all times. There is no facility to leave your child unattended at school during this time. We look forward to seeing you there


Rushbury Village Hall Saturday 21st March starting 18:30.

‘Eyes down’ – everyone welcome all ages and all skill levels. Come on and enjoy the fun!  The Friends will run a refreshment booth with snacks and drinks available. See you there!

WATERPROOF TROUSERSRecently the school purchased some waterproof trousers for forest school which have now gone missing.  Please could you check that they haven’t gone home by accident and ensure that your child brings wellies and waterproof trousers for forest school and gardening as we currently have a shortage.
FUNERAL AT ST PETER’S CHURCH, RUSHBURYWe have been informed that there will be a funeral on Tuesday 24 March and have been asked, where possible, to keep parking to a minimum and to leave the area outside the church gates clear. Thank you for your co-operation.
MORRISON’S VOUCHERSThank you to those who very kindly donated their Morrison’s vouchers. The amount collected enabled us to buy a garden rake, sieve and some seeds.   Please keep collecting!

Summer Holiday Club

Following on from last year’s success, a summer holiday club will once again be held at Rushbury School.

The dates will be 27th & 28th July, 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th, 17th 18th, 24th & 25th August from 9.00am – 3.00pm.

This is for children aged between two and eleven years old, and a range of activities will be offered including cooking, crafts, sports and gardening. The cost will be £21 per day (no increase on last year), and children will require a packed lunch. There is a reduced rate for siblings (£18 for the second child and £15 for the third).
