School Website Launch

We are delighted to announce the launch of our school website.  We hope this will become an effective tool for communication and enable us to share and celebrate the many things that happen at school. The website address is

As Google strengthens its pathways, we will eventually be able to find the website through typing in RushburySchool.

All of the children are invited to take part in a conker competition, starting at morning break on Monday 14 October.  Children taking part should bring in a conker attached to a string. The string must be clearly named. The competition conkers will be stored in a container throughout the competition.  Only one conker per child can be entered.

On Wednesday 16 October Mairi Dugdale will be clearing the school kitchen to enable easier access for the children during cookery lessons.  As this is quite a big job, we are asking for volunteers to come along and help from 9.00 am until 11.45 am. Please contact the School Office if you are able to help with this.  Thank you.

The cost of music lessons is calculated according to the number of children attending.  Therefore, as there has been a significant increase in the number of children wishing to attend these sessions, invoices will sent out later in the week when the final number has been ascertained.

If you (or someone you know) would be interested in selling produce at our Farmers’ Market on Tuesday 10 December, please call the School Office as soon as possible.  The cost to stall holders is £5.00.

The amount raised for Lulindi continues to grow, following our Harvest Service.  The final amount will be announced in next week’s Newsletter.

As part of their Geography topic, children in Class 1 will be visiting Rushbury to look at various features of the village. We will be using the school mini-bus on this occasion and aim to return to school in time for the usual singing lesson with Ian Bennett.

A reminder to parents of children in Year 6 that the closing date for all secondary school applications is:

31 October 2013.  If you have any problems with applying online, please contact the Admissions Team direct on 0345 678 9008. Alternatively, completed paper applications should be returned to the School Office before the closing date above.  Thank you.
